CHESTNUT RUN –
the first and the largest annual sports and charity event in Ukraine
WHY THIS EVENT IS STILL NEEDED?
about so many children are born annually in Ukraine with heart disease
of them dies at the age of 1 month in case the surgery is not done on time
almost so many children are having surgeries annually at the Center for Cardiology
YOUR participantion saves children’s lives
Awareness of the problem
The Chestnut Run annually reminds media and the community about the kids with congenital heart defects and raises awareness about the treatment options.
Aid beneficiary
The Chestnut Run Charitable Foundation purchases necessary equipment and surgical supplies for the Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Children’s Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery of the Health Ministry of Ukraine.
Saving lives
Despite the fact that about only 70% of Ukrainian children with congenital heart defects are treated at the Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Children’s Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery of the Health Ministry of Ukraine, the number of saved lives increased over the years. The surgery mortality rate decreased 16 times from 2000 to 2018.

2017-2019 – the first EnSite™ electrophysiological cardiac mapping system in Ukraine,
2020 – new anesthesia-breathing apparatus A7 (Mindray),
2021 – Giraffe incubator carestation (special incubator, which maintains a constant temperature, humidity and the necessary oxygen saturation),
2022 – unique instruments were purchased for performing minimally invasive cardiac surgery for children.
